Pastor Jeanette Conver

Pastor Jeannette, her husband Lynn, and their family moved to Washington state in
1990 to work on Bible translation for a refugee group from Laos living in Seattle. Not too
long after that, Jeannette was invited to serve in lay ministry leadership at Kent
Covenant Church, Kent, WA, and was subsequently added to their pastoral staff in
During this time, she received her call to serve God’s church as pastor.
She completed her Masters of Divinity at North Park Theological Seminary as a
distance student while continuing in pastoral staff ministry at Kent Covenant Church.
She was ordained and subsequently accepted a call to pastor Covenant Community
Church in Essex Junction, Vt. in July 2017.
Jeannette loves preaching, leading and caring for God’s church in all its diversity,
beauty, and mess. She comes alive when conversing with people about almost
anything. She enjoys people, singing and playing music, Thai food, talking about books
and movies, hanging with her grandchildren in Burien, and exploring new places. She
and Lynn are captivated by the beauty of the North Cascades and the North Sound.
Jeannette and Lynn have a son and daughter-in-law and two awesome grandchildren in
Burien, a son in Utah, and twin daughters in Thailand. They do their best to stay
connected on Zoom. Speaking of travel, they love visiting other countries for ministry
(and sometimes vacation). They have lived or spent time in Thailand, Laos, Nepal,
India, China, Philippines, Greece, Kenya, France, and Guatemala.

I am so happy to be back here at Lynden United Methodist Church. I grew up in Lynden in this very church; from Sunday school in the basement, to potluck picnics, singing in the choir and bringing my own kiddos when they were small. This is a return to the church office for me as well and I am grateful for the chance to be here again as your Administrative Assistant and Bookkeeper. You will not find a kinder more supportive group of people than among us Methodists.
I grew up in Lynden, spent the past 15 years living in BC and am living once again in Lynden with my 2 teens. I love being back in Lynden where it is ok to forget to lock your doors, safe to go for an evening walk and easy to find a friendly face. On my weekends you will likely find me working in my yard or just sitting in the backyard reading a good mystery novel. I love sitting on a driftwood log out at Birch Bay, sitting around a fire with
friends, and going for walks with my kids.
